Definitions and the evidence base, the neuroscience of attention, building a personal practice, and a clear-eyed look at scope of practice and professional ethics.
Respiratory physiology and the autonomic nervous system, four-plus practical techniques, contraindications and safety, and a critical appraisal of popular methods.
Internal versus external focus, mindful movement cueing, interoception and proprioception, and considerations for different populations.
The transtheoretical model, self-determination theory and COM-B, motivational interviewing (OARS), self-compassion and ACT principles, mindful goal-setting, and safeguarding and referral.
The full mbPT session structure, programming and adapting for populations, creating psychological safety, and summative assessment via a filmed session against the mbPT Competency Framework.
